Vanessa Borovilos picked up her first college golf victory with a -15 (201) at the Chevron Collegiate in Houston this week. The Texas A&M freshman helped her Aggies team to a runner-up finish to the TCU Horned Frogs. There were 90 women in this NCAA Division 1 tournament played at the Golf Club of Houston.
The Ontario, Canada native shot an eagle and 13 birdies over the 54-hole tournament. In fact, Borovilos went bogey free for the entirety of the tournament and shot 67 all three days.
Her coach, Gerrod Chadwell said “Vanessa was phenomenal. Going bogey free over 54 holes is something I do not think I have ever seen.”
Borovilos was also named the SEC Golfer of the Week for the first time in her career following this win marking her second weekly award. In the fall season, she was chosen as SEC Freshman of the Week when she tied for second at the Charles Schwab Women’s Collegiate.
Earlier, the Freshman was given a 2024 Preseason Golf Channel Honorable Mention All-American and a 2024 Rolex Junior First Team All-American.
